The Silo Series: DUST by Hugh Howey
This review of Dust will be very minimal due to the fact that it is the final installment in the Silo Series and there is very little that can be said without giving away a good chunk of the plot.
Dust is a perfect final chapter to a sci-fi series that can only be called a masterpiece. While all of our characters seem to be destined for extreme danger and the unknown, Hugh Howey is not afraid to take time to build on the relationships of the characters that we have come to love and admire, even some that we have come to despise throughout our journey.
Moving at a breakneck pace to an utterly triumphant ending, Dust doesn’t rely on wrapping up everything with a tight little bow. Howey challenges his readers to still be curious and have questions. Closing with an Author’s Note, he reminds us that all great stories live on and that is exactly what his ending does, give us the opportunity to fill in the remainder of the story that he doesn’t tell us.
Dust is a finale that any series or television show should aspire to be. No spoilers but it is certain to make you have a series of feelings that Howey has become a master at drawing out of his readers.
